Again its been a while since I last posted but things are busy in life!
Generally all is well and I’m very busy with a load of personal projects. I have a game plan for the next 6 months and hopefully things will go well and the plan run on schedule. Yes, it is all a bit ‘undercover’ as I am not really giving much away, but suffice to say that I am very busy in what spare time I have doing things.
You see, my wife and I have an idea and quite a clear picture of the lifestyle that we would like to live. We are currently putting things in place to try and make this become a reality. My wife has already taken steps and is a lot closer to doing what she wants to do. I must say that she is so much the happier for it.
For me, I’m plodding away doing what I can so come the 6 month mark, I wuld hopefully be well underway to reaching my goal.
More updates as they come.
Business Projects
Until a few months ago I had a personal blog called Inner Guru. This was a blog about my thoughts on spirituality and life. It was a blog that I had made quite a few posts to and unfortunately, something went wrong when I was moving all my websites to a different hosting company.
I’m now in the process of moving things again and I’m going to start Inner Guru anew and revive it to its former glory and hopefully make it even more insightful and informative than before. Personally, I’ve come a long way and look forwards to documenting my spiritual journey and learnings in the new blog. It should be up within the next week or so!
Spirituality & Universe
It’s been again a long time since my last post as I’ve been very busy with some personal projects. But it’s high time that I wrote another post.
I thought I would focus on the idea of change. Personally, I love change, I think change is great and really keeps life fresh. As you are all aware we are going through some HUGE changes in the World, the inauguration of President Obama in the US and of course the so-called ‘credit crunch’ that is sweeping the World.
For many, it is a time of worry and stress. With uncertainty about jobs and security, the general atmosphere I get from people is one of gloom, but not everyone is like that. It reminds me of when I was talking to a friend about the credit crunch and her views on it. Like most people, she was not very happy and actually seemed quite depressed when talking about it. When I asked her how it had affected her, well…her mortgage repayment was significantly reduced, she had a stable job and all was well!
It’s funny how people can get caught up in the hype of the media. Sure things are not necessarily going well for everyone and people are losing their jobs. But can they see an opportunity in this? If you are a house buyer like another colleague of mine, this is a fantastic time for her. For those making some earnings abroad like another friend, the weak sterling is a great boost for him in terms of income.
You see, if we look hard enough and just focus on what we each want to do, there is always an opprtunity somewhere. In more spiritual terms, the Worldwide events can be seen as a deparately needed shakeup in a world that is not really working very well. By that I mean us humans, the way we are behaving and acting towards each other and our environment.
For me I am very excited about the times to come, I think we are living in one of the most exciting times around and I’m very grateful for that! Watch this space.
Life & Thoughts, Spirituality & Universe change, new world
So, we are well in to the New Year of 2009 and things are already busy!
I’m currently off work at the moment as we got married in December and are going on honeymoon this week. Our trip is to Norway to see the Northern Lights, hopefully, that’s the plan anyway. It is a 5 day cruise with a day in Tromso, Norway before we fly back.
It’s great to have so much time away from work as it kind of gives me a taste of what retirement must feel like! Yep, no more having to get up ridiculously early before the sun rises and groaning about the week to come. It’s a nice feeling and has given me time to do all my other stuff and also some insights.
Certainly it is great having time off work but it is a temporary thing. After a couple of weeks I will be back at work. Though I am enjoying it, it has made me realise that it is very important to have some sort of purpose in life, whether it is work or otherwise. I can see how one can actually get quite bored and unproductive with their time.
Not for me though, I’ve got a list of personal projects. Not least of them is setting up an Internet business of sorts. I have a 6 month plan and at the moment with a lot of the free time that I have, I’m going crazy working on it and using my time as productively as possible. It has been very good and I’ve come a long way in a few short days.
Everything so far is ahead of schedule and it will just take some time to see the results and outcome. In the meantime there are lots of tweaking to continue with. I read a book loaned to me called ‘The 4 Hour Week’ by Tim Ferris. This is a guy who is trying to live his life by working no more than 4 hours per week. In doing so, he has lots of free time to pursue all of his other interest. It’s a great concept and a key component of it is outsourcing a lot of the work to other people (freelancers). I’ve taken this advice on board and have outsourced some stuff to people.
It does cost money but I can tell you I have completed something is about 3-4 days what would have taken me about a month or so! Anyhow, I will provide more updates as I progress.
Business Projects, Life & Thoughts
As we approach the pinnacle of the Christmas period I often think to myself “wow, where did the year go?”. Often life seems so busy and hectic that time literally passes us by.
From one point of view, in a ’spiritual’ sense, this is not necessrily bad. In fact, it may indicate that you are living in the Present and enjoying every moment of life. So that when a major milestone is reached (ie Christmas), we think where has time gone? A brilliant spiritual teacher called Eckhart Tolle, who wrote the book, ‘The Power of Now’, explained the importance of living in the Present moment, the ‘Now’ as he called it. The Present moment is the only time that we have and living in the past or future is fruitless. We never revisit the past and the future never arrives, the only moment there is, is the Present moment. He teaches us that by living in the Present moment we can live life to its fullest and appreciate it as we journey through it.
On the otherhand, if we are constantly worried about what is going to happen in the future or constantly dwell in the past, wishing what could be, then we are letting life pass us by. Instead of being Present in every moment, and enjoying it, we would be in a place where we are always seeking the end rather than enjoying the actual journey to getting there…which is life.
Having said all that, the en of the Year like Christmas, is nit a bad time to take stock and reflect on your year gone. What have you achieved? What great things have you experienced? Are you where you thought you would be one year ago? These are good questions to ask yourself in order to appreciate how much you have gone through and how much you can achieve in a single year. It will most likely surprise you. With this in mind, it can give you motivation to think about some of the changes that you may like to make for the coming year.
It’s a powerful exercises, try it.

With Christmas fast approaching, it seems quite strange to me that time seems to pass even quicker than before. It often feels that the though the festive season is upon us, it is not like the days of olde. This I largely put down to the fact that the weather is no longer ‘Christmas-like’. Where has all the snow and extreme cold gone?
Anyway, things continue as they must in life and I am very busy with my personal business projects that I work on at home and in my own spare time. This is in addition to my day job of course. Of course all this time, Christmas is creeping up on me and I remember that I’ve yet to do some Christmas shopping!
A positive aspect of Christmas shopping is that you are more likely to get away with not buying lots of presents and blame it all on the recession that we are in. Anyway, continue we must and this week is Christmas party week, both at work and then with friends and then finishing the week off with a Christmas carol concert at the St Alfeges Church in Greenwich. Not I’m religious or anything, but we’ve been going to this carol service the past 2-3 years and its a lovely event.
I’m still working on setting up this blog correctly and then I will get down to posting more stuff, until then.
Life & Thoughts
One of my interest areas is the topic of spirituality, what is life all about, why are we here etc. One of my previous blogs was called ‘Inner Guru’ I will transfer all my old posts from that blog over to this new superblog and post them over a period of time.
It may take me a short while to transfer them all over but I will get it done when I can.
Spirituality & Universe
Here we go
Having had a couple of blogs, one of which I have kept going for a good 12 months and others that have not lasted 12 days! I have deceided that it was time for a change and to get myself sorted out.
This is the Ulitmate blog! (for me anyway.) Here I will be amalgamating all of my blogging stuff into one big blog. Basically so I can simply go to one place to post all my stuff. I will write about my personal life, my many crazy business ideas/ventures, my spiritual thoughts and lessons tht I have learned, and anything else that I feel like writing about.
So, let this be the very first post about me posting more in the future.
