Surrendering

Posted by: Waiman | Comments (0)

Following on from my last post when I said that after reading the book, ‘A New Earth’, I am currently in a state of ‘flow’, I feel very connected with everything and there isn’t much stress at all for me. There are a few words that come to mind to give a sense of how I got to where I am. One word is ‘Surrender’.

For me, surrender means giving yourself up. What does this mean? When I say to ‘give up’, I do not mean in the usual sense of the word to give in as such, but more to let go of expectations. To surrender to what is, and not be resistant to it. In doing so, you come to a place of acceptance. Whether you are currently in a position in your life where things are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ you come to accept it as it is.

Without resistance, you flow more easily through life, not always fighting against what is not necessarily there. A given situation just ‘is’ and whether it is seen as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ depends upon the meaning that you give it.

In this state of surrender, one is freed of the need for a particular outcome and you can be evermore Present in the moment and enjoy life as it was meant to be. By giving in to the moment you are also not constantly looking towards the future for your happiness or to your past for your identity.

Surrender yourself to live in order to live it more fully and more present.

A New Earth

Posted by: Waiman | Comments (0)

I am currently reading a book by Eckhart Tolle called ‘A New Earth’. Eckhart is the author of the best-seller ‘Power of Now’ and is a very insightful spiritual author. I’m near to the end of the book and have gained some great insights.

A New Earth

A New Earth

Basically, the book talks about the human ego and how the physical form around us is not really who we are. Who we are, are spiritual Beings, energy, souls, consciousness, call it what you will. We are here in physical manifestation. In other words, we are all a lot more than what we see physically with our eyes.

When we remember who we are, and look beyond the physical form, you get a glimpse of the wider reality. It reminds me of a time about 6-7 years ago, living in London, having a lot of debt and not a very high paying job. And I was reading a book by Tony Robbins called “Awaken the Giant Within”. As I was reading some early chapters, something about gratitude I think or appreciation. As I was reading I had a spiritual moment, and my first one at that. I had a great sense of inner peace flow through me and all stress and tension just lifted. It was quite sudden and amazing.

For about 6 months after that, I was in a state of what I can describe as Bliss. I had lots of things going on around me but I had total inner peace and could not be fazed. It was great. After the 6 months, tension and life gradually took over and I lost the feeling. Since then I have been on a personal journey to try and rediscover what happened and how to get that state back.

For me it has been an interesting journey and I have had many glimpses of that moment that I experienced many years ago. Since reading ‘A New Earth’ I’ve certainly feel like that I am almost back to that point again and it is really great. Something has shifted and a greater awareness is within me, of my life and of all life itself. I understand what Eckhart is talking about and hopefully you will get a chance to read his book and experience a similar shift in consciousness.

This book was chosen by Oprah Winfrey for her book club. She does a great job in spreading the word on spiritual teachings and has a fantastic website. She actually has an online workshop with Eckhart Tolle himself, that works through the book chapter by chapter and discusses the concepts. You can read more and even download the webcasts so you can join the study group as you read the book yourself to deepen your understanding. This is highly recommended. Inner Guru is Back!!!

Posted by: Waiman | Comments (1)

After a long absence, the Inner Guru blog is back! This is a blog about spirituality and all stuff to do with things esoteric and self-development. My last attempt of Inner Guru disappeared after I tried to move the site over to a new hosting provider! Yes, a load of blog entries just vanished!

Anyway, things happen and I’m back!

The site has been moved again to a new hosting  provider and hopefully it will be stable and provide a good home for my websites. I’ve just put the blog back up and over the next few weeks will be working on the layout and content. I hope to get some other people to contribute to the blog and write about their own experiences and spiritual journey.

Lets see how things develop!

re: revival

Until a few months ago I had a personal blog called Inner Guru. This was a blog about my thoughts on spirituality and life. It was a blog that I had made quite a few posts to and unfortunately, something went wrong when I was moving all my websites to a different hosting company.

I’m now in the process of moving things again and I’m going to start Inner Guru anew and revive it to its former glory and hopefully make it even more insightful and informative than before. Personally, I’ve come a long way and look forwards to documenting my spiritual journey and learnings in the new blog. It should be up within the next week or so!

All Change is Good

Posted by: Waiman | Comments (0)

It’s been again a long time since my last post as I’ve been very busy with some personal projects. But it’s high time that I wrote another post.

I thought I would focus on the idea of change. Personally, I love change, I think change is great and really keeps life fresh. As you are all aware we are going through some HUGE changes in the World, the inauguration of President Obama in the US and of course the so-called ‘credit crunch’ that is sweeping the World.

For many, it is a time of worry and stress. With uncertainty about jobs and security, the general atmosphere I get from people is one of gloom, but not everyone is like that. It reminds me of when I was talking to a friend about the credit crunch and her views on it. Like most people, she was not very happy and actually seemed quite depressed when talking about it. When I asked her how it had affected her, well…her mortgage repayment was significantly reduced, she had a stable job and all was well!

It’s funny how people can get caught up in the hype of the media. Sure things are not necessarily going well for everyone and people are losing their jobs. But can they see an opportunity in this? If you are a house buyer like another colleague of mine, this is a fantastic time for her. For those making some earnings abroad like another friend, the weak sterling is a great boost for him in terms of income.

You see, if we look hard enough and just focus on what we each want to do, there is always an opprtunity somewhere. In more spiritual terms, the Worldwide events can be seen as a deparately needed shakeup in a world that is not really working very well. By that I mean us humans, the way we are behaving and acting towards each other and our environment.

For me I am very excited about the times to come, I think we are living in one of the most exciting times around and I’m very grateful for that! Watch this space.
